Pit Stop!

The Hawaii adventures began on Wednesday March 2nd when we left the house before the sun was up. Ron picked us up, we threw our luggage in his car and we were off to Love Field to begin our trip. Our pit stop took us to San Fransisco where I had tons of fun outdoor things planned for us to do. I wanted to take the boys to Boudin, a super yummy bread cafe and then head to Golden Gate Park where we could take out paddle boats and play at their amazing looking playground and explore the beautiful Japanese Gardens!

When we landed it was beautiful! The sun was out and we were all hot in our jeans and sweatshirts. When we got to the hotel we checked our bags in, took off our warm clothes and hopped in the uber car to head to Boudin. Lunch went just about as planned. The food was once again delicious and the boys had a great time watching them make the bread.

At some point, after we walked in to Boudin and before we left there was a drastic change in the weather. When we left it was foggy, windy and there was a slight mist in the air. We instantly regretted leaving our warm sweatshirts at the hotel. We decided to tough it out for a bit. We took the boys to see the sea lions at pier 39, we saw the Jeremiah O’Brien and the submarine right next to it and we went to Ghirardelli Square and got some chocolate. We all had a good time and even enjoyed what we saw and learned. The Jeremiah O’Brien is a WWII ship that sits on the water and it is huge! So were the torpedoes sitting next to it. But by the time we got to Ghirardelli Square we were cold to the bone and as badly as I wanted to go to the park I really wanted to be warm. So we got in touch with uber and back to the hotel we went. As soon as we got back the boys ran to the pool and came back to report that they had a hot tub. I’ve never changed into my swim suit so fast!

Coming back to the hotel was the right move. The boys spent over an hour and half swimming and playing with Jaren while I dozed in and out of sleep on a lounge chair and we were finally warm! After swimming we ordered Dominoes and ate it in our room while watching Shark Tank and tried to keep the boys awake a little longer so they wouldn’t be up at 4:00 in the morning. It kinda worked, they were up at 5:00.
