Scout Camp

So basically it boiled down to this, I was super hesitant to send Austin to scout camp! It was called Twilight Camp and it was the first week of summer break, Monday thru Friday from 4:00-8:30 (thus the name). I had no idea what went on there. Who would be supervising him. What the campground looked like. Anything! I didn't know anything! I learned from a good friend that I could volunteer and if I volunteered then Caleb could go to the siblings camp. Done! The three of us were signed up for scout camp by the end of the week. Now before I go on I must tell this funny story. My partner in crime for the week, Bridgette is a high school teacher and she was telling her kids that she was going to Twilight camp and she had requested to supervise the wolves. The high school kids thought she was some kind of Twilight, the book series, enthusiast! Nope,while some people might live vicariously through Bella and Edward my partner for the week is not of them! The week was crazy busy but super fun! I would volunteer again in a second. We had a blast and the camp was incredibly well done.

This was my group for the week. Bridgette and I were over the siblings group which is why we have two girls at scout camp!
Caleb, Charis, Shiloh and Jude. Bridgette and I had to stay on top of this little group or it quickly got competitive between the boys and girl. Especially at the water station. 

They had so many different stations that we rotated through. When I read about some I thought there is no way these kids are going to have fun at this station. But I was so wrong. They seriously loved every single station we went to! At the end of the week we filled out a survey on which stations the kids liked and why. Clearly they pay attention to those surveys because they have put together a pretty good camp.

Our first time at the arts and crafts station. They made rockets that they got to launch on the last day of camp.

Water station. For sure the favorite of all the boys! I want to make on of these water balloon launchers
for next years Taylor Family Splash Party.

Because I was over Caleb's group I got way more pictures of Caleb. But there were times when I would sneak away and snap some quick shots of Austin with his friends. Austin was seriously in heaven. He loved scout camp! 

Jace, Tred, Austin and Javanni. All these boys are in Austin's grade and are also in our same ward at church. 

Austin and his friends came running up to our table one day while we were at arts and crafts. They were
in the middle of their scavenger hunt and since we hadn't been to that station yet they didn't give anything away.
They made sure to be very quiet about what they were finding. 

Their turn to make helicopters! 

Like I said, we all loved it. We'll be back again next year Twilight camp!
